I know you’ve heard about becoming an Apostille Agent or Apostille Coordinator, or about “offering Apostille Services.”

But, if you're scratching your head wondering what an apostille is, don't worry, It's a form of authentication for documents used in countries part of the Hague Convention of 1961. Trust me, it's a game-changer for your notary career.

Apostille services are more complex than general notary work, specialty notary work, or loan signings - so some notaries get so intimidated they never take the leap to adding the service.

That’s where being an apostille courier comes in. So, instead of completing the notarizations or coordinating the entire apostille process, you’re responsible for simply transporting the documents where they need to go within your service area instead.

As an apostille courier, you primarily focus on the transportation of documents to the Secretary of State or embassy. This role doesn't require the same level of expertise as an agent, making it easier to start, especially if you're new to the apostille world.

Plus, it's a more flexible gig; you can often set your own schedule and work around other commitments, perfect if you're juggling life as a mom of a toddler like me.

Starting as a courier usually involves less upfront investment compared to being an apostille agent. You don't need to spend as much on education or certifications initially.

Your main investments are reliable transportation and maybe some basic office supplies.

As a courier, you get the chance to interact with various professionals in the legal, business, and notarial fields. These interactions can be invaluable for networking and can open doors to other opportunities down the line. It's a great way to build your reputation in the professional community.

If you're considering becoming an apostille agent later on, starting as a courier can give you a unique perspective on the process. You'll learn the ins and outs of the document handling process, which is crucial knowledge for any aspiring apostille agent.

Now now, don’t worry, you know I don’t gatekeep anything so of course I’m going to tell you how you can start driving leads for courier requests as well.

1) Your regular schmegular online presence. Website, Google Business Page, Yelp for Business Page, Facebook Business Page.

2) Networking with other notaries. Tell other notaries that you see that offer Apostille services that you are a courier!

3) Join the free Facebook Group Friends of Apostilles. There are tons of notaries in here who offer apostille services and make posts weekly looking for couriers across the nation.

4) Create a free listing on apostilledirectusa.com - this is a roster of apostille couriers and where many apostille agents go to find a courier for their clients’ documents.

Let me know if you try it!
